Many companies in the industry use the dyno only for so-called advertising purposes, which allows the customer to print out a paper showing the power and torque of the car. For us, the dyno is much more! It is an irreplaceable tool for product development, without which it is impossible to achieve the perfect end result of the software. Because we want the engine's efficiency to improve across the entire rev range, it is important to see real-time measurement data and power/torque information from different rev ranges.
We use a German-made Maha LPS3000 4WD power dynamometer, which has a measurement accuracy of 2% up to +1000hp. Since some highly tuned cars produce maximum power at high load/speed, our power measurement facility is also built, among other things, for ventilation so that measuring these is not a problem. The ventilation in our facility consists of fans with a total power of 63kW = 86Hp and these together can produce 90,000m 3 /h of air @ 160km/h!
Maha LPS3000 4WD power dynamometer
The German Maha LPS3000 power dynamometer is equipped with electric TELMA eddy current brakes. The mass of the rotating parts of the tester is very small, which means that their effect on the measurement results has been minimized (compare with a heavy mass roller). The TELMA eddy current brake enables continuous loading without loss of braking power. The specialty of the Maha is the measurement of the power required by the power line. With a separate free measurement (clutch in the bottom or gear in N position), the tester measures the power required by the rotating masses of the vehicle. By measuring the wheel power from the roller surface and subtracting the measured rotating car masses from it, the tester is able to determine the actual engine power. In addition, the tester measures air pressure, temperature and humidity. This information can be used to determine the engine power according to the standard (DIN, EEC, ISO, JIS or SAE).

A checklist for those coming to the dyno:
- The tires must be intact and have enough tread left. Measurements are only made with summer tires. If necessary, we will change the tires before the measurement. We do not perform measurements with any kind of winter tires. Not even friction tires! The same applies to racing tires, semi-slicks or slicks. Remember to bring the keys for the lock bolts with you!
- Tire pressure must be correct. We can check it before measuring.
- The bike's corners must be in order.
- The car must be technically 100% in good condition. There must be no fluid leaks of any kind! Maintenance must be carried out on time according to the manufacturer's instructions. The timing head must be in proper condition or serviced. The amount of oil and other fluids must be sufficient/in good condition. The air filter must be in good condition or replaced with a new one.
- The tank should preferably be full, but at least ½. If it is a petrol engine, then the tank should contain 98E or equivalent high-octane fuel.
- Towing and pulling eyes included.
